Tenley's Surgery

Wow!  First of all I cannot believe how bad I am at blogging!  My life is seriously a little too crazy!  I am taking a stab at trying to update you all on our life but you probably already know it by now!

Tenley's Surgery Jan 2011.
The time came for miss "Tenny Anne" as we call her to have her little accessory removed and the pit fixed.  This was extremely hard on me.  We had to stop feeding her at around midnight and then she couldn't have any formula after two am.  When we got to Primary Children's we checked in and then waited for about forty minutes for a nurse to get us to take all the vitals and get Tenley in her gown.  She was so cute in that little gown and so innocent, she had no idea what was coming.  They called us to the operating waiting room which is where you wait to be called for your operation.  This is where the doctor came and talked to us and the anesthesiologist.  We also got to meet the nurse who would be assisting with the surgery too.  This was the part that me and Adam thought was hysterical... this guy comes around the corner dressed from head to toe in green scrubs and a green hat and then some sort of eye shield mask thing.  He had a gigantic red beard and he seemed like he would have the deepest voice but he had like the squeakiest voice ever!  He had basically a tool belt on full of bandages, scissors and all sorts of operating tools.  The entire time he was talking to us we were trying so hard not to laugh.  He was seriously the nicest guy though.  The anesthesiologist called us finally and we walked Tenley to the red line and said our goodbyes and he took our baby and walked away.  It was so hard for me but I knew she was in good hands.

We went over to this other building that is connected to the hospital and got lunch and right as we sat down to eat it the fire alarm went off in that building!  We were on the sixth floor and I was thinking " great so I am in a different building, my baby is having surgery as we speak, and I am in a fire alarm!" .  By the time we got outside and evacuated though they said it was a false alarm.  I guess there just wasn't enough drama in our day.  Tenley was finished so much faster then they thought and we got back to her within two hours.  She was very groggy and tired but recovered fairly quickly and we were discharged.  All in all it was such an answer to prayer how everything turned out and Tenley did so great with everything!  She is a trooper!

Fall Family Pictures 2010

My friend Joni Pitcher took our family pics this fall.  It was the day before the first snow was supposed to come and the fall colors were still out and about so we decided to try and get some pics.  They turned out so great! I am so in love with them.  She is starting her own photography business so check her out... www.lilpitcherfamily.blogspot.com  .  Thank you so much Joni!!!

Miss Tenley and her Accessory

So our little miss Tenley Anne was born with an Accessory Tragus  and a Preauricular Pit.  This basically means there is a growth on her ear and a little hole in her cheek.  We have been to a few doctors regarding this and we went to Primary Children's Medical Center to Dr. Munz finally for a consult.  He reassured us that everything would be ok and put our minds at ease.  Tenley will need surgery but it shouldn't be to extensive.  I have decided to document her little ordeal because I think that this is a time when I need to rely on God for strength and comfort and I think Tenely will be able to look back on this and see that God cares for her and loves her.  I am very concerned for the surgery and have many apprehensions but am trusting God that He will work everything out.

Pumpkin Painting

We painted pumpkins with Dad this year.  Taylor actually had fun and joined us this year.  Tenley of course just hung out cryin but she was still cute! We had fun together.

Halloween

We took the kids Trick-or-Treating  to Lee's Marketplace this year.  Taylor was supposed to be Thomas the Tank Engine but he refused to wear his costume so we asked him if he wanted to wear his Hockey gear instead and he did.  Tenley was a baby horse, she was so cute!

Fall Colors

We went to Franklin Basin for a few hours just to enjoy the fall colors and fresh air.  We found a cute little creek and Taylor had fun throwing rocks into it!
